Volume 2,

#112: 7 Mistakes To Avoid If We Could Start Over Again

August 17, 2014

With hindsight 20/20, Travis and I look back on seven mistakes we made starting our online stores and what we would do differently. Like most things in entrepreneurship, you’ll never get the full picture weeks, months, or even years later.

Topics Discussed:

  • The challenges of naming your business
  • The power of repeat purchases and customer lifetime value
  • Discovering your customer’s worldview and identity.
  • Why you shouldn’t listen to everyone’s advice (even ours).
  • What makes a tribe different from a customer base?
  • Why sometimes you need to just take a step back and relax.

    Terry and Travis,
Great job on the first podcast together. Terry you could hear the spark of enjoyment in your voice again! I hate the term “pivot” but it really applies here, change is good so embrace it. Keep up the good work people are listening!

    • Thanks David, think it’s a legit use word of “pivot” here.

We’ll be trying a few new topics like health and productivity too as Travis is really into the bio-hacking side of things.

Not sure how it’s going to turn out but it seems to help him in getting things done for his business!

Thanks David for the feedback, I have wanted to do podcasting for a long time and I am extremely grateful Terry asked me to join up with him. I will make sure and give it a 110%!

  • Another great show; thanks guys!
